Edison International’s principal subsidiary, SCE, is a wires-focused electric utility dedicated to strengthening and modernizing the grid; achieving operational and service excellence; proactively mitigating climate-related risks, including wildfires; and advancing affordable clean power and electrification.
Customers & Communities
SCE is dedicated to safely providing reliable, affordable and clean power, while leading programs that help customers manage costs and advance the clean energy transition.
Edison International and the Edison International Foundation awarded 632 grants totaling $25.8 million to support nonprofit partners and community‑based organizations.
Employees, family and friends dedicated ~41,000 hours to volunteering — a $1.6M value.
SCE’s Energy Education Center hosted more than 590 classes, both online and in-person, with nearly 34,000 attendee visits across all sessions.
Reliability & Resilience
SCE is modernizing its electric grid through strategic investments in advanced infrastructure and digital technologies that support widespread electrification, load growth and clean energy goals while enabling smarter, more affordable customer energy solutions.
In 2025, SCE installed 700+ circuit miles of covered conductor (totaling ~7,100 circuit miles) and inspected ~1.6 million trees.
SCE demand response programs provided more than 800 MW of capacity available to be dispatched during periods of grid stress and high energy prices.
Clean Energy Transition
Rapid electrification powered by carbon-free electricity can deliver an affordable, secure and resilient clean energy transition for Edison International, California and beyond. Edison International and SCE are investing to support electrification and clean energy integration, while providing thought leadership that informs regulatory and policy discussions. Our strategy is risk-informed, grounded in climate modeling and expert analysis, and aligned with science.
Reaching Net Zero details Edison International’s plan to reach net zero and support California’s climate goals, building on previous analysis. It identifies risks and opportunities for California’s electric sector transformation through robust scenario analysis and outlines our ongoing actions to ensure a safe, reliable and affordable clean energy transition.
SCE delivered at least 60% carbon-free Electricity in terms of retail sales to customers, 70% cleaner than the national average GHG intensity among utilities.*
* U.S. national average for data year 2024 is 340.9 kg. carbon dioxide equivalent per megawatt hour (CO2e/MWh) or 0.34 metric tons CO2e/MWh. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) no longer maintains certain GHG-related databases; alternative sources have assumed responsibility for updating these values. Currently. SCE utilizes the Cornerstone Sustainability Data Initiative, which employs the same open-source model previously used by the EPA.
SCE contracted ~900+ MW of energy storage in 2025, bringing the total to ~9,200 MW owned or under contract — one of the largest portfolios in the nation.
